The 1958 Ford automobile owned by the plaintiff, Krueger, was parked at a curb when the defendant ran into it propelling it into the vehicle ahead and causing damage to the front and rear portions of the car. The defendant, Steffen, admitted that, just prior to the accident, his attention was centered upon his female passenger; and, accordingly, liability was admitted. The only question in a trial had to the court was of damages. The defendant before trial offered judgment in the amount of $350. The offer was refused and, following a trial that took portions of two days, the Judge found damages for the plaintiff in the amount of $525. From a judgment in that amount and an order denying amendment of the judgment, the defendant appeals. Further facts will appear in the opinion. Is the court's finding of damages contrary to the great weight and clear preponderance of the evidence?
